I tested my hand at web 2.0-style design with a mock social networking site. this was the result. Compare the linked site with the prototype design done beforehand.
Lost Cities - 04/02/2008
Lost Cities is a second experiment with AJAX games. Made with more knowledge and experience, Lost Cities is shaping up to be a very entertaining game when complete. I've implemented a chat system, drag-and-drop interface, animated game updates, polling, user logins and sessions, with a MySql/PHP backend.
File Lister and Comment System - 04/02/2008
As I improved with AJAX I began developing more useful applications, such as this file displayer and comments system. The file lister is a late-binding tree table with sortable columns to allow for easy up-to-date directory viewing and quick traversing of a file structure. The comments system also uses a tree structure to allow for subthreads within discussions and more well-structured discussions.

Robo-Rally - 04/02/2008
Robo-Rally was my first experiment with AJAX, and was a tad ambitious for one guy, given the hundreds of graphics required and the limited amount of information on AJAX at the time (heck, the name 'AJAX' was coined in February 2005, around the time I began work on Robo-Rally, and a few months after I first encountered XMLHTTPRequests). Nonetheless, I managed to implement a working chat system, a drag-and-drop interface, polling, and a dynamic game interface.

Self-referential entry here, but this site was meant as a place to experiment and teach myself new things, and show off some things I can do.
